Continuing Education Units (CEU)

Continuing Education Units (CEU) and Professional Development Hours (PDH)

Georgia Institute of Technology noncredit professional education courses, each with clearly stated objectives, will maintain, improve, or expand your professional skills and knowledge. All of our courses meet the requirements for Continuing Education Units (CEU) and Professional Development Hours (PDH).

  • One CEU = 10 contact hours of instruction
  • One PDH = one contact hour of instruction
  • One CEU = 10 PDH

Upon successful completion of a course, you may receive a certificate indicating the specific number of CEUs earned. Georgia Tech’s use of the CEU follows internationally accepted criteria and guidelines established by Georgia Board of Regents which follows international standards such as The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

State and Association Requirements

For specific information on state licensing or credit requirements, please contact your state licensing board. If you are seeking certification through a professional association, please review the specific requirements with that association.

Transcripts

CEUs earned through Georgia Tech courses are recorded in the attendee's name. A transcript is available by submitting your request via e-mail to our registrar’s office at ceu-request@dlpe.gatech.edu. The request will be processed within 5 business days (in most cases) and the transcript will be sent via e-mail.
